RECOVERY AFTER WORKOUT

HERE ARE A FEW TIPS TO FOLLOW FOR A GOOD RECOVERY AFTER PHYSICAL TRAINING/WORKOUT


Cool packs help to relax sore muscles, especially if you are inclined to develop soreness in particular set of muscle group like quadriceps, make sure you apply cool packs to that area to prevent and manage soreness and pain.


Carry a cooling spray or pain relief spray in your recovery kit to treat any kind of muscle spasm or mild muscle sprain which can worsen if ignored.


3. SLOW STRETCHING

Slow stretching is essential to prevent muscle soreness following a workout or training session. Stretching of large muscle groups like hamstrings, quadriceps and glutes is essential to prevent any kind of stiffness following your training.


Using a foam roller to massage the sore muscles following a workout goes a long way in preventing pain and improving blood supply to the muscles which in turn prevents injuries. 


5. HYDRATION and NUTRITION 

Hydration forms a very important part of recovery which helps to prevent muscle cramps which are very common following a workout. Water with ORS should be taken during and after training to refuel the system.

Also protein-carbohydrate snacks can be taken following a workout for promoting good recovery to muscles.
